Hair Bows!!

My friend Keri taught me how to make adorable hair bows, so I have been having TOO much fun with them!

This is my very first bow!! Keri says I have talent.

I made these to go with an adorable dress my mom bought for Elise, I can't wait to dress her in them!!

John's favorite

These are the bows that Keri made while trying to teach me. THANK YOU Keri, that was so much fun!!!

I just LOVE satin, Lissy has already got compliments from the pink & brown bow, though John says she looks like a big present because it's huge....but I like it!

Hair Cuts??

Every six months or so I get bored with my hair and want a change...so I was looking through pictures to see what style or length looks best on me (which was shocking how few of pictures there are of me, or even have me in them)

....What do you think?????
Long??

Mid-length??

Or short (I know for some that's not short, but for me it is)??

Which length, style and color do you like on me??? (Sorry, I couldn't find the picutres with me as a burnette...but it washes me out too much)

Tag-7yrs ago on May 18

My friend Emily met her husband 7yrs ago on May 18th 2002 and wants to know where her loved ones were and what they were doing at the same time....cute idea!

So...7 yrs ago I was on my mission in Argentina. John was due to go home from his mission in two weeks and I was struggling with the decision if I should complete the full 18 months of my mission or to go home and marry the man I was eternally bound to. It may seem like an easy answer, but for me it was one of the most difficult decisions of my life-even now. Since I have my journal I might as well use it:

"Another turning point in my life! We had interviews with President (Mission) this afternoon. We had a nice talk about stress and distress. He gave me an example. 'The day of your wedding is here and you have to get to the temple. You're stressed to get there and do everything. Then there is a traffic jam and you can't do anything, go anywhere. So if you're cool you just sit back, turn up the radio and wait.' (He was trying to help me feel peace about staying on the mission for 7 more months) 'Or you get out of the car, lock it and catch a cab on the other side of the accident,' was my reply. I think that threw Pte. off guard; 'Yes, or you can do that.' Afterwards he gave me a blessing. He said when he placed his hands on my head the spirit strongly told him 'Don't council her, tell her what you would tell your own daughter.' He promised me many things... So I will complete my mission, and I'm at peace about it, FINALLY!

May 2003 John and I had been married for three months, we were in newly-wed heaven (except for my constant migraines). We had a nice one bedroom apartment with a pool and hot tub that we used almost every day. John was working at Inkley's camera full-time and going to school full-time. I was looking for a job as best I could with wanting to hide in the dark and trying to keep anything down.

May 2004 I was seven months pregnant with Mason. John had been transfered to the Inkley's store in Vernal Ut (where we went to HS) and was completing his college classes via Internet. I was still in Provo completing my college term and job at Service Experts Heating & Cooling. John would drive home on Friday night spend the weekend with me and drive back to Vernal at 4am Monday. We were in the process of buying our first home.

May 2005 John and I were both going to school full-time and John was working full-time for Inkley's during the day. We were completely enthralled with our beautiful baby boy: who was climbing up stairs by himself, graduated to a forward facing car seat, made it through church w/o having to be taken out, loved playing peek-a-boo, and was just learning to walk. John had bought me my first mountain bike for Christmas so we spent lots of evenings and weekends riding around town.

May 2006 John and I graduated from USU with our bachelor degrees!! We were so happy to be done. Mason was our little helper, he did everything from vacuming, to cooking! He has always been our little man.

May 2007 I was six months pregnant with Elise. We were all so excited for a baby girl! Mason asked about every day when baby sister was going to come out of my tummy. We were turning the guest room into a nursery and I would go into her room and sit, pondering how it would be to have a sweet little girl. I would organize her clothes and hair bows anticipating being able to dress her in them all. I spent most days in bed while Mason became very proficient in putting on Disney movies for himself.

May 2008 We had just moved to Las Vegas three months before. We bought a blow-up 14ft pool and were enjoying most days in our pool. John got lasic surgery on his eyes. Elise was learning to crawl. And I had just been called into the RS presidency.

Silly Kids!

I have the silliest kids! When I was getting ready for church Mason came into the bathroom and said, "Mom, when are you going to be ready to go to church?!" "Ten more minutes" I replied. He heaved a big sigh, "I want to be learning about the gospel right now."

Then when I was ready and coming downstairs I looked over the banister and this is how I found them! I thought it was too cute not to take a picture...okay 10 pictures.
(Lissy's always watching and following Mason-I'm always amazed by how much she adores him)

After I was got the bags, scriptures, and keys I went to the back door and there they were waiting for me....makes you wonder how much they have to wait for me, doesn't it? I'm really not that bad!!

Backyard update

Well we have offically finished the patio!!!! And I love it! John did a great job smothing out all the sand and making it look really good

It has also gotten Very hot here (we're in the 100's almost every day now) so we set up the pool-unfortunately there is a VERY small hole in the top portion and it leaks a little air. John and I had fun setting it up we were filling it when almost all the water spilled over the edge and dumped water all over the backyard! So now we can only put a little water in.
If anyone has any suggestions or idea's on how to find a tiny hole in a plastic pool, please let me know John and I want to enjoy the pool again this year and right now we can only put enough water in to reach a little above our ankles (it's suppose to be 3ft deep). At least the kids still enjoy it-Lissy probably even more!

Mason was a awesome little helper for Daddy. He would carry the pavers, get buckets of sand for him, hold the shove, and get Daddy drinks. He is our little man! He hates it when we won't let him help or when he's not big enough to help how he wants to! Mas told grandma last night that he wish he were 'growd up, like Daddy' and I hope he stays my little boy for as long as possible!

Bonnie Springs

A friend of mine, Breezy recommended we go to Bonnie Spring out by Red Rock, so a couple of weekends ago we wanted a break from the backyard so we went.

Mason loved the little train (that we got to ride) and the gun fights. He even got a little sheriff's badge and was taught about gun safety.

Lissy's favorite was chasing the peacocks that wandered all over the animal park, she even got to pet a couple.

John and I even saw some animals we had never seen before! Don't ask what they were.... I can't remember any names....sorry.

For those of you who think only brothers tease...well you don't know Elise! Mason was so cute attentively watching the gun show with his hands folded in his lap when sister would come up, tap him on the head a couple of times and run off laughing. She did it over and over until he got up and started chasing her. They are SO funny together, and Mason is VERY patient and gentle with her.

Mason's Pony

Grandpa got a pony for Mason, but since we don't live close any more he has only ridden it three times. So Grandpa is getting rid of the pony (it's A LOT of money to feed a horse that no one uses).

Mason is going to be so sad, how do I tell him????

Any advice would be great!
