Easter 2009!!

We had a GREAT easter! Saturday our friends Mike & Amanda invited us to an egg hunt & barbecue at the park by their house. Thanks again-it was so much fun!

Lissy had her first experience in actually finding eggs on her own. She loved it!

And Mason LOVE finding eggs so much that we had to keep having egg hunts for a week.

Here is my gorgeous hubby...I'm SO blessed to have you!!
Sunday afternoon Ben & Emily invited us and some other friends that don't have family in town over for a potluck & easter egg hunt. All in all it was a GREAT EASTER!!

Sunday morning we watched the cartoon version of Christ's Crucifixion & Resurrection. I want to take a moment to express my love for the Savior of the World, My Savior. There would be no point to life or death without Jesus Christ. Because of Christ's perfect atonement we can become One with God, we can repent of all our sins, which brings exquisite peace. Because of our Lord's suffering and death He alone knows how to uplift us in our troubles, sorrows, and pain, for He himself has felt everything we have felt. We are NEVER alone, He stands with out strectched hands beckoning us to come to Him. I love my Savior so much, and I wish that I wasn't SO weak as to need moments like Easter to have to be reminded of how much I need Him. 'Please Lord forgive my absence from thee'.

As I watched the scene when Mary Magdalene is crying at the tomb fearing that her Lord has been taken and then the joy she has as He appears to her in a glorified, perfected body, I am overwhelmed. How much He has done for ME! How much He offers me if I will follow Him! I know that someday all mankind will be resurrected and given perfect bodies, not because somehow we earned it or deserve it, but because our Savior is that merciful and kind, because He loves us that much! I tease John when he asks what he can do for me when I'm in pain by saying that I'm ready for my perfect body now, but I am truelly overhelmed in the knowledge that someday there will be no more pain or sorrow or fear. There will be no more death.

How I look forward to the day when my brother, Jesus will embrace me and welcome me home. I know that I have much to accomplish first and pray for Him to help in making me worthy to come home and live in God's presence forever.

Elise can READ!

Elise has started pretending to read like Mommie, Daddy & Brother!! She even likes the same books!

'Friends' Party!

We had a 'Friends' party-which was SO much fun. John's sister, Ruby gave us 'Friends' scene it for christmas and we wanted an excuse to play with other's who like 'Friends'.

(Can anyone guess why I chose these invitations? If you're true 'Friends' addicts you'll know....)

Everyone was suppose to bring something or dress up as someone from their favorite episode. John got Cheeze Cake-sorry no picture
Our friends Courtney & Joe came as Ross & Rachel when they get drunk and married in Vegas.
Aurie wore a see-through shirt with names written underneath

and
Aurie & I were braclet buddies!

If you watch 'Friends' much you probably can guess what episodes these are all from...

I won the Scene it game...finally! Without Steph to compete against I have a chance!

Play group & Farewell

We've been having a lot of play groups at the park by our house lately. It's such great weather-70's & 80's.

Elise was so funny she got her drink and went and hide behind the slide...I think other kids, including her brother take stuff from her too much and she was NOT going to have them take her drink.

We also we saying farewell to friends moving away. Braswell's moved to Utah & Armstrong's moved to Alaska. You will be greatly missed!

Hiking at Red Rock

A couple of weekends ago we went hiking and enjoyed the beautiful weather, while back home in Utah they got snow dumped on them again! We are SO glad to be here. Though it's getting into the 90's now, I will take it over the cold.

While there we saw a herd of wild big horn sheep. It was fun. I know you probably can't see anything in this picture...but there were more than 15 there.

Elise rode in the carrier and seemed to enjoy it, but would have prefered to run with Mason-she can't stand for him to do things without her.

It was also cool to see how in the oldin' days they use to cut stone out of the mountain.

Emily's Baby Shower

Aurie & I gave our friend Emily a surprise baby shower! It was SO much fun because she was totally & completely surprised! She was also very touched-which makes it all worth it! We love you Em.

As an update, Little Anna was born April 19th, 2009 after 30+ hrs of labor. An Emily was able to deliver vaginally-which she was REALLY excited about doing after having Kate c-section (tid-bit of history lesson...does anyone know why it's called ceasarian?)

Ton's of the ladies from the ward showed up to support Emily-

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR COMING!! We had fun learning more about each of you

This is the 'clothes line' Aurie & I got for Decoration/gift for Emily & Anna.
Thanks Aurie for helping me do this-you are one of the best people I've ever planned anything with-it was fun!

My Birthday! The last of the 20's...

You gotta have some fun before you get too old, right?!

So John took me go-car racing for my birthday.

Mason went with me...he kept saying 'go faster, go faster!' Needless to say WE WON! Elise was completely indifferent to the whole experience.

Mason, on the other hand, begged to go back for his birthday...so if any of you wish to go go-car racing in July, you are invited!

Also, our wonderful friends, Ben & Emily gave us gift certificates to Red Lobster (my favorite resturant) and volunteered to watch the kids for us. THANK YOU!!! WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

John had to work from 6am to 9pm on my actual birthday, so Emily took me out shopping too.

A wonderful friend, Keri made this adorable cake for my birthday-THANKS!
